TV personality Dr. Phil, whose real name is Phil McGraw, will soon be airing interviews with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his former opponent, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
These interviews will be shown next week on Dr. Phil’s television network and streaming service, Merit Street.
In a short teaser clip, Dr. Phil asks Trump how he feels about receiving support from RFK Jr. Trump responds by saying, “I’m very honored by it. He’s a very smart guy, a different kind of a guy.” Trump also mentions that it’s possible RFK Jr. could be part of his administration, although they haven’t discussed it yet.
Trump’s interview will air on August 27, and Kennedy’s interview will be released the following day.
Recently, Kennedy decided to drop out of the presidential race and announced his support for Trump. He criticized the Democratic Party’s handling of the primary election and the media’s role in the process.
Kennedy said, “I’ve made the heart-wrenching decision to suspend my campaign and to support President Trump. This decision is tough for me, my children, and my friends.”
Kennedy is now asking swing states to remove his name from the ballot so that he doesn’t act as a “spoiler” in the election. He will stay on the ballot in states he considers solidly “red” or “blue,” so his supporters can vote for him without affecting the outcome between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kennedy appeared on stage with Trump in Phoenix, Arizona, where he received strong applause. Trump asked Kennedy’s supporters to join his campaign, calling it a “beautiful coalition” that aims to protect liberty, safety, prosperity, and peace.
After Kennedy’s announcement, the Harris campaign responded by saying they are the campaign for people who are tired of Trump and want a leader who will fight for them and bring people together, rather than divide them.
