Former President Donald Trump doesn’t hold liquor licenses at his three New Jersey golf clubs, his company said Tuesday.
This statement came after the New Jersey attorney general’s office questioned whether Trump’s convictions in a New York case might affect those licenses.
The Trump Organization said Trump isn’t an officer or director of any entity holding a liquor license in New Jersey or anywhere in the U.S.
The attorney general’s office announced Monday they are checking if Trump’s 34 convictions, related to hush money payments to a porn star and falsifying business records, violate rules against anyone convicted of a crime involving “moral turpitude” from holding a liquor license.
“These are some of the most iconic properties in the world, and reports like this harm the thousands of hard-working Americans who make their living from these spectacular assets,” a company spokeswoman said.
According to state records, Trump’s three golf clubs have liquor licenses under corporate names: Lamington Farm Club LLC, Trump National Golf Course Colts Neck LLC, and TNGC Pine Hill LLC. These clubs are in Bedminster, Colts Neck, and Pine Hill.
The attorney general’s office didn’t comment on the Trump Organization’s statement or the progress of their inquiry into the liquor licenses.
When Trump became the 45th president in January 2017, he handed over management of The Trump Organization to his eldest sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, according to the company’s website.
