Rudy Giuliani Smiles in Arizona Mugshot for ‘Fake Electors’ Case

Rudy Giuliani was seen grinning with his head tilted down in a new mugshot released on Monday.

He was indicted in Arizona for allegedly trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

The former New York City mayor has pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges, including fraud, forgery, and conspiracy.

These charges are related to his alleged efforts to help Donald Trump stay in the White House.

Giuliani, who is 80 years old, is accused of spreading false claims about election fraud in Arizona and pressuring state lawmakers to change the results.

Joe Biden won Arizona by about 10,000 votes. Giuliani’s mugshot was released in connection with this case.

Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s spokesperson, criticized the charges, calling them a political move to interfere with the 2024 presidential election.

He accused Joe Biden and his allies of damaging the trust and integrity of the criminal justice system.

Goodman expressed confidence that Giuliani would be cleared of all charges.

Giuliani was the last of 18 defendants to be served in the “fake electors” scheme.

This scheme involved trying to give Arizona’s 11 electoral votes to Trump by submitting fake electors’ names from Arizona and other states to Congress.

Giuliani was served his indictment at his 80th birthday party in Palm Springs on May 17, after prosecutors had trouble finding him for several weeks.

A doorman at his New York City apartment building refused to let investigators in or accept the documents.

Meanwhile, Giuliani publicly taunted Arizona prosecutors on a podcast and social media.

On May 21, Giuliani appeared remotely at an arraignment in a Phoenix courtroom, where he represented himself and pleaded not guilty to all nine charges.

He called the indictment an embarrassment to the American legal system, prompting the judge to threaten to mute him.

The judge ordered him to appear in court again within 30 days for booking procedures and to post a $10,000 bond.

The mugshot, released by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, shows Giuliani wearing a suit jacket, white shirt, and a blue tie with white stars.

He appeared earlier in the day on “The Rudy Giuliani Show” wearing the same tie.
